I have a Toshiba SD2109 DVD player which doesn't play CDRs CDRWs etc. I'm probably wasting your time asking this, but is there any way around this? Any way of formatting a blank to fool it etc?

    Hi
I had found a website in the past that listed DVD players and what CDR and CDRW's that they could play. I'm trying to find the link again and will post it as soon as i can.
I have the Toshiba 1600 which isn't supposed to play CDR's, but apparently certain brands can be played - it was something to do with the colour of the CD (the readable part) which was blue or green.
Try some different brands and you may find one that will work.

You'll have more luck with CD-RW's than with CD-Rs as these are more reflective and easier to read.

    Hi
I have the Toshiba SD1600 and just found a CDR that will play on it!!
    FUJIFILM CD-R - 80 min/ 700MB, 1x up to 24x write speed
I've recorded about 4 CD's already and it works like a charm.
Hopefully it will work on all Toshiba's, so that you can get yours going.
    Take it easy
    Paul

    I have the Toshiba 2109, and 1200.

Princo brand disc play okay on both machines, the 2109 is more suited to cdrw than cdr's but todate have had no problems playing either type of princo on both machines.
