    CD Players - technology irritation

Just moved to my 3rd CD player - a Denon DCM 370. My Kenwood has had a problem for a long time, tho it still works fine for playing most disks.

The move-on to Denon is no big deal, but again, I am reminded how much these cruddy black boxes annoy me.

This one does not have on-board buttons for selecting tracks (only on the remote), the changer tray moves fast and confusingly, and only one of the 5 trays is completely accessible when the changer mechanism is open, for the other two disks of the 3 outward trays, I actually have to slide the cd slightly under the CD surround box to seat it in a tray!!!

Plus the trays are shallower than on the Kenwood.

Of course, the changer is black, features black trays, black tray number identifiers, etc.

What are they trying to do, get folks to jam up the unit with misplaced cds? [IMG]

Another example of the black box that is the designer's mind.
