Having searched around this forum, CD Collector seems to be a popular choice for cataloging CDs. I've got the trial version which seems very good. I'm on the verge of buying the full version, not sure whether pro or standard yet.

I know a few people here use it. Any last minute comments? Is it worth buying, or have people got regrets/gripes with it? Any other progs worth a quick look first?

    Thanks.

    Darren.

I use it everyday and love it. With the new version 5.0, there are some growing pains for those who print out reports. The new XSL system is very flexible and, because of that flexibility, it's harder for the casual user to quickly create reports. The authors, Alwin and Mark-Jan, are looking into ways to make the reports easier for everyone.

The biggest thing that's missing right now is CD-Text but that should be coming soon too.

I've said it before, but ... Music Collector is one of the only shareware programs I've ever purchased.

i also dig this program and will probably pull the trigger.

i'm waiting to move into my new house with my girlfriend. between the two of us i think we'll have something like 1100 cds, so i'll definitely wanna catalog them at that point.

i just have to convince her to sit by the pc and do the batch install thing-a-ma-jig. [IMG]

    What Greg and Ted said...
Works good and it is updated by the developer often.

    Ted,

I definitely recommend cataloging before the move! I have a friend who just moved, and a bunch of his DVDs turned up missing. Luckily, he had most of them catalogued with DVDProfiler, so he could have the mover reimburse him.

Thanks for the replies. It seems like Music Collector is the one.

Nobody using anything else they'd recommend before I take the plunge.

The guy who wrote DVD Collector is working on a CD Collector. As I like his DVD Collector app, I may just wait a little while to see what he comes up with first. If not, I'll definitely be going with Music Collector.

    Hello,

I've never check out the CD collector program so I can't compare it to the one I'm going to suggest, but I've used CATraxx for the last 4+ years and I think it's a great program that does more than I could ever use and has great support! If there is anyone that has used both I would love to hear how they compare.
