I'm not so sure anymore, since they started releasing complete series on blu-ray recently. MTS has not been transferred to HD, except for the first two seasons, so no blu-ray release likely. However, I think CBS may have come to the conclusion that the high priced days of individual seasons sets are done and that the best bet is cheap complete series sets based on whatever masters are floating around. In this case, if they are to continue with MTS they may just create three large volume sets, one for the B/W years and two more for the Color years. Just a feeling...
You may be right on all that... unless they can find new ways of transferring these to higher rez.

And as such, the bottom of episodes of O-R NBC Trek, which used to say this pre-merger:

now would say this post-merger:

Right, the last three season 2 Star Trek episodes to carry the Desilu tag (when originally on NBC) were:
2x16 - "The Gamesters of Triskelion" (60346) (1/5/68)
2x19 - "A Private Little War" (60345) (2/2/68)
2x25 - "Bread and Circuses" (60343) (3/15/68)

Why would the Desilu/Norway and Paramount/Norway notices be inconsistent over the remainder of the second go?

Why would the Desilu/Norway and Paramount/Norway notices be inconsistent over the remainder of the second go?
Part of that has to do with the "first trial airdate" for the finished 35mm film print. These three were test-screened to NBC execs on respectively:
"The Gamesters of Triskelion" - test-screened on 12/14/67
"A Private Little War" - test-screened on 12/5/67
"Bread and Circuses" - test-screened on 11/24/67

Anything test-screened after 12/15/67 will have the Paramount logo. The first such episode test-screened was "A Piece of the Action" (60349), on 12/27/67.

The whole "first trial airdate" also helps identify what episodes had the copyright under the Desilu logo, and those that did not.
List of episodes without the copyright in the Desilu logo, by order of trial airdate:
7/21/67: 2x07, "Catspaw" (5149-30) (NBC, 10/27/67)
8/10/67: 2x01, "Amok Time" (5149-34) (NBC, 9/15/67)
8/11/67: 2x09, "Metamorphosis" (5149-31) (NBC, 11/10/67)
8/14/67: 2x11, "Friday's Child" (5149-32) (NBC, 12/1/67)
9/6/67: 2x02, "Who Mourns for Adonais?" (5149-33) (NBC, 9/22/67)
9/13/67: 2x03, "The Changeling" (5149-37) (NBC, 9/29/67)

List of episodes with the Paramount/Norway copyright in the Desilu logo, by trial airdate:
9/19/67: 2x14, "Wolf in the Fold" (5149-36) (NBC, 12/22/67)
9/22/67: 2x05, "The Apple" (5149-38) (NBC, 10/13/67)
9/26/67: 2x04, "Mirror, Mirror" (5149-39) (NBC, 10/6/67)
9/27/67: 2x06, "The Doomsday Machine" (5149-35) (NBC, 10/20/67)
10/6/67: 2x08, "I, Mudd" (5149-41) (NBC, 11/3/67)
10/19/67: 2x12, "The Deadly Years" (5149-40) (NBC, 12/8/67)
10/26/67: 2x15, "The Trouble with Tribbles" (5149-42) (NBC, 12/29/67)
11/6/67: 2x10, "Journey to Babel" (60344) (NBC, 11/17/67)
11/24/67: 2x25, "Bread and Circuses" (60343) (NBC, 3/15/68)
11/30/67: 2x13, "Obsession" (60347) (NBC, 12/15/67)
12/5/67: 2x19, "A Private Little War" (60346) (NBC, 2/2/68)
12/14/67: 2x16, "The Gamesters of Triskelion" (60345) (NBC, 1/5/68)

List of episodes with the Paramount Television "Rising Circle" logo, by trial airdate:
12/27/67: 2x17, "A Piece of the Action" (60349) (NBC, 1/12/68)

I have no idea if this means anything, but I noticed that Amazon has THE FUGITIVE complete series DVD set with jacked-up prices. The red-covered set is now just about as pricey as the MOST WANTED set. To me, this says, out-of-print, and is perhaps a precursor of a future Blu-ray release.

Looks like people really do want the set this badly...

excellent list. You know I've wondered if some seventies and eighties tv movie rom coms would do well on Hallmark and Lifetime? Films like the Girl, The Gold Watch, and Everything."

I am so sick and tired of The Beverly Hillbillies being stalled out. This should have been finished years ago. There is no major music to speak of, just Mike Minor singing on a crossover episode and then Pat Boone. Roy Clark's appearances were mainly music so old that it was in public domain even then.

I bought a few episodes in HD on Vudu. Talk about stunning!
I agree about the Beverley Hillbillies- does anyone know the reason Paramount has stonewalled on this series? Poor sales?
I also agree that the other series like Our Miss Brooks and Ben Casey should be completed , at least on MOD.
They need to complete Bonanza too.

Yes, these music rights issues bother me a lot.

Maybe not for this series, but I believe Petticoat Junction probably does use some licensed songs...

~Ben
Yes Petticoat Junction has lots and lots of music clearance issues for all the remaining seasons which makes its release very unlikely but there is no reason they cannot complete The Beverly Hillbillies and Bonanza and hopefully they will complete both.

Could there be some music clearance problems in the later seasons of The Hillbillies? I remember Roy Clark and Pat Boone guest starring in some episodes.
