I guess this answers the question if they will remaster the color seasons of My Three sons which was due next, staring with Season 6. It appears this show will once again be stalled. This show has really had bad luck with getting a Home Video release.

If it was a younger or middle aged person in the home video division who made the wrong costly decisions, most likely they would have been on the layoff list and might have been purged already in the semi-periodic layoffs in that business over the years.

If it was a higher level older person who made the wrong costly decisions, they might have been offered an "early retirement" package during layoff season.

I hope this will not be the total, very sorry end for any future DVD releases of classic TV shows by this company...

I let CBS Home Entertainment know of this on their Facebook page that I continue to support them releasing classic TV on DVD.

If the wrong discs mixup happened at the original disc manufacturing plant (in Mexico), then most likely nothing will happen unless the worker in question has a repeated pattern of incompetence.

I still believe Gunsmoke's final season will be released regardless of what is going on in this shake-up.

According to a source at the company, Paramount will take over marketing as well as distribution of all CBS properties eliminating CBS Home Entertainment. The MOD program is up in the air as to its ultimate fate.

For all future releases, will Paramount themselves have a logo to replace the CBSHE logo?

Isn't that basically how it was in the beginning? The first three seasons of Taxi, Cheers 1-7, everything Star Trek, and so on were all Paramount releases before the split.

Then came the CBS logo and music cuts.

Good point-- that is indeed a minor issue in the grand scheme of things.

My guess is for anything that they’re doing from scratch, maybe, but that they won’t spend money to redo stuff that’s already been released or is already in production.

I suspect it is highly dependent on who is running the tv show side of Paramount home video division.

If it is the same gang of folks from the former CBS home video division, then probably the same "shenanigans" will continue on as over the past 15 years or so.

If it is an entirely different group of folks, then nobody knows what will happen.

15 years? Try at least 30 or more! They've been dropping music since the 1980s. I think even the Police Squad VHS and laserdisc releases had the "music has been changed" disclaimer on the boxes!

I'm guessing they're going to retire the logo with the globe turning into the CBS eye. That has been around since the 1990s.

If Flesh and Blood is ever to be released on DVD, this may be a tough thing to do as this 1979 TV movie originally aired on the CBS network in a four-hour time slot! That might require breaking it up in half, on two discs. If so, part 1 of the halved special shall say, before the end credits, "To Be Continued..."

There shouldn’t be an issue fitting something like that on one disc. :)

Especially inasmuch as the commercial break spots can be edited out, and it can be condensed down to what its length would be on DVD without commercials.

As one that loves My Three Sons and has yet to invest in the MOD discs, I wonder if I should think about buying seasons 3-5 now?

$200+ for three seasons is going to hurt though, lol. And with some of the MOD drama posted here lately, not sure I trust Amazon to get six individual releases correct.

Just two weeks ago I called CBS Home Entertainment on the phone to request some shows be put on DVD. I got an executive assistant and she had me list the requests to her email and was nice and receptive about them. She just forwarded the request to the higher ups.

After reading the news here about the MOD division folding I wrote back to her asking questions about the MOD situation and short lived shows being put on DVD. I got no answer back from that point on.

I hope I wasn't being too inquisitive or out of line by writing back to the assistant about this situation.
Being a personal issue to them I probably should not have written back when all they were originally doing was simply taking my requests for shows.
Anyone here think it was a mistake writing to them about this or would you have done the same thing?
