Only in markets that have CBS "O&O" stations, which means the CBS network "owns and operates" the local CBS station. Most TV stations across the country are not owned by their affiliated network.

This is essentially the same thing that is already available from Dish Network.

    From the AVS Forum thread:
The 17 markets served by CBS O&O stations are: Austin, Baltimore, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Detroit, Los Angeles, Marquette, Miami, Minneapolis, New York, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Salt Lake City, San Francisco, and Green Bay.

I understand the concept but it's still big news. It's the only local carried network on D* in any shape or form as of right now. Paving the way so to speak. Gotta start somewhere. It should also allow for those who have waivers signed from their local network to receive the feed. That's the chatter over at avsforum anyways. Makes sense to me.
