Great film!
Yes! Lots of fun, with very good performances by the entire cast.
Let me date myself- I saw this film in a theater back in the Summer of 1965 and it’s always been a favorite.
I have the TT version which looks excellent, and which I believe has a really good commentary track.
But do you think Sony might have made a new even better transfer for their own version? I may double dip on this film . It can’t hurt to have more than one version of a great movie!

I wasn't as much of a fan of the film as others here when I watched the TT disc of the film for the Western challenge back in March, but I thought the TT disc looked good.

This film, while decent, is almost the same as TRUE GRIT: drunken old man is hired by young woman to avenge father’s death. Both won an Oscar for the lead actor.

I’m not sure which one I like better.

I like this artwork, though… if it has more Bonus features, I’ll buy.

Cat Ballou came out 4 years before True Grit so it's not like Cat was ripping off True Grit.

Have the TT blu ray so i'll wait to see the details of this release. But i love the film. Marvin is over the top in a good way. Jane Fonda looks fantastic and the rest of the cast are great.

Sony might have sweetened the deal by including a commentary track.

Legend has it that Ann-Margret was offered this role and her manager (I believe it was Pierre Cosette) turned it down without her knowledge. I saw a recent interview with A-M on YouTube and the interviewer brought this to her attention and she looked dumbfounded and had no idea. Another actress considered was Pamela Tiffin, and she had the comedic chops for it (she proved that in Billy Wilder's "One, Two, Three"), if it was offered I'm not sure but her managers at the time (Irwin Winkler and Robert Chartoff) kept sticking her in teen drive-in fare which wasted her talents. Also, she lived in NYC and refused to move to Hollywood, which at that time was unheard of and she wasn't as easily accessible. Fonda who landed the role is fun, flirty and sexy in the role.
