If you're a diehard fan of 1960s Italian horror, you'll want to pillory me for looking for something like a plot in a 1960s Italian horror film. Others may find the review enlightening and/or entertaining.

Horror-Wood is one of my favorite sites. Nice review, I agree with your assessment. CASTLE OF BLOOD was fairly disappointing IMHO.
