Casino Royale DVD Glitch? (1 Viewer)

I noticed on my copy of Casino Royale that in Ch 10 0:48:49 - 0:48:51 there seems to be a glitch. The numbers don't jump but run smoothly during the "glitch" though so it makes me think it is a problem with the source material or just badly edited for the movie.

It happens during the airport chase sequence when Bond is hanging off the truck the bomber is driving and he makes a sharp left turn. As the truck turns, the frame jumps and it turns again but in a different position. It just looks weird and not smooth at all as if the frames didn't match in transition.

Anybody else notice this on their copy or should I exchange mine?

Thanks.

I have not screened my copy of CR yet, but what you describe sure sounds like a layer change issue.

I briefly considered that too but I doubt it. This was seamless and smooth. The disc didn't "pause" at all the way every other layer change does. It just seemed like the scene was either badly cut and put together, or my disc is defective.

When you check your copy can you let me know if you notice anything on yours? Thanks.

It just looks like a jump cut to me. Or rather the editor just cut from one take to another take and hoped you didn't notice. :)

I just had a look at it and I think Ray is right, it's a bad jump cut. Looks like two takes, where the second one was slightly closer and that's the awkward jump we see.

The layer change is at the point in the film when Le Chiffre goes to his room during the first break in the game, and his girlfriend is standing on the balcony.
