Carver HR-895 worth getting fixed? (1 Viewer)

This 8 yr old Carver HR-895 unit of my dad's quit working about 6 months ago. Assuming it will be faily expensive to fix, will it be worth it? I was going to wait for the new Onkyo to come out but it may be better to get this fixed.(It comes on just won't play any sound).

For starters you can unplug it, open it up and check to see if any fuses are blown. You may want to try a local electronics repair shop to see if it is something easy. If you have to ship to Carver I recommend getting a new up to date receiver.
