Jason:
I have Pioneer 6X9 2-way speakers but don't really care for the highs. The mid-range sound decent enough so it depends on your application. If I could go back I would buy the Pioneer 6X9 1-ways and use the fronts for my highs. I have no experience with 6X9 Rockfords but there subs sound good to me.
Benny:
I'd stay away from Clarion at all costs. I had a head unit that was CRAP. It was last years model. Thank goodnes it got stolen . I have a Pioneer CD Deck right now and I definately like it. The only bad part was tweaking it. There are soooo many options it took me a while to find a good sound. I also had a Kenwood CD Deck 2 years ago that I liked but nothing recently. I have Infinity speakers 4x6 for the fronts that are decent sounding. As stated previous I also have Pioneer 6X9's.
Good Luck with the budget. That, I believe, is the only hurdle.
