Has anyone noticed the glitch in the video imaging on Pirates of the Caribbean Dead Man’s Chest? At “1 hour 16 minutes and 59 seconds layer 1.” It’s a pixel problem that is on the film itself or rather got transferred to the batch of region 2 DVD that are now circling the UK!

Hello

Wow I’m stunned it’s on your version of the DVD, I wonder if this is on the USA region 1 DVD?

Well hopefully this will be corrected when they realise the next batch of Pirates 2 on DVD.

Thank you for the information on this matter.

I´ve not seen anyone make a comment about it in R1 reviews, but then I´ve not seen comments about it (or the syncproblem) in reviews of the Swedish edition either. So I guess people doesn´t seem to care to much.

I posted this also on the digital bits, has of this time no one has seen the film as of yet, but I did say let me know if you happen to see the same glitch in the same area of coarse where running at 25 fps and there running at 24 fps so I guess it would appear in the same area.

Well that was the attitude by another forum site not the digital bits, no names mentioned has too which site it was. But it’s like wow it only lasts for a second, well, LOL I forgot to count the frames bugger!

Are you sure it's on layer 1? I'd have sworn it was within the first five minutes after the layer change (which appears to be right at the end of the Wyvern scene). I'd concur with 1:16:59 as the clock count, though.

Rather than fart around with converting the time index, suffice to say it happens exactly at the moment Jack pops back up into shot to peer at the compass which Elizabeth is holding to get the bearing for the location of Davy Jones' chest.

Layer 1 I checked it with the on screen layer data on the SONY DVP-S336 display it was layer 1 on the region 2 DVD. At 1 hour 16 minutes 59 seconds!

Yeah just has you described it, it really BUGGERED ME OFF! So I hope Disney can get this problem fixed with the next batch! Because I never watched anymore of the film from this point onwards I was really pissed off with the quality control.

This is probably why Buna Vista Disney doesn’t do THX DVD for the UK market anymore! Yeah what’s the story about then?
