Just thought I'd share a little of my excitement.
Last night, I ordered an Onkyo TX-SR805 receiver from Amazon.com. This should be the best receiver I've ever owned. I'm hoping to get an HD tv in March or April, then a blu ray player a little later. I'll already have the right receiver to fill out the package. Also looking forward to hooking my turntable back up.

I'm sure you will enjoy it. I just ordered a (cheap) turntable this week. Can't wait to play some of my old LPs.

Remember to give the 805 lots of space to breath. The 805 tends to get a bit warm if it is confined.

Congrats on the new receiver! The 805 has to be the best bargain among receivers. And one of the rare instances where last years model might be better than this years. Oh, one more thing. In case you haven't heard yet, proper setup and calibration is essential to getting the most from your receiver .

I think I might have heard a little something about that. Maybe I'll get a good grip on things, and get it setup so it's decent..........

Congrats Ed. I have this receiver and have been very happy with it. It does run a bit hot, and although this never caused me any problems, I did decide to order a small cooling fan. Placed in the rear corner on the right side [receiver front facing you] it will greatly reduce heat buildup.
