As the title says, I can't find this anywhere. Does anyone have any suggestions? I've tried numerous links, the price search, etc. Any idea will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
The "Mickey Mouse" set (as well as the other "Walt Disney Treasures" editions) are limited to 150,000 individually numbered copies. Amazon.com is the only online retailer that I see who has the title in stock. You might also be able to find them on Ebay.
It looks to be getting more scarce, though, so I'd pick one up ASAP.
I'll bet they'll be $50-75 on Ebay in a few months, probably.
I'm surprised there are any copies left at retail outlets on this. When you consider the number of rabid Disney devotees, + the film buffs who consider this a necessity, 150,000 copies isn't enough to fill half the demand. This one would have sold out fast at twice the print run. For the other three Treasures volumes 150,000 is probably about right.
Add the fact that almost no copies of this title made it to Canada ( a few Disney stores ) and you can see that the demand for this title was far greater than the limited pressing allowed. I had to go to Amazon for mine when it became obvious that the title was under-produced.
As you live in NY...try THE WIZ! I found all four limited edition Disney tins...and they were the cheapest I had seen them anywhere, even beating online. $24.98 each tin. I picked up all four in the Union, NJ WIZ store.
Glad I read this message! I had no idea they were limited editions! Thankfully, I ordered the Micky Mouse one from Amazon and the rest from DVD Empire. Does anyone know if more of these are planned?

The Fry's Electronics in Wilsonville, Oregon
has at least 4 copies sitting on a rack as of
today (Wednesday) at 5pm. (I live about
3 minutes away from them.)
They were priced $24.99
If you want one, you can probably call them and
ask them to ship one to you.
If they won't do that, I might be willing
to pick one up for you, but you would have to send
me payment as a Money Order, or use
your Visa or Mastercard free of charge
through www.paypal.com.
And of course
there would be shipping charges...like $4.00 for
priority mail, or $3.00 for USPS.
If you want me to do this, just use my e-mail
address or send me a message here.
(I am addicted to this forum: look at my number of posts!
I'll check this thread within 24 hours.)
If not, you can always try eBay, where I doubt
the prices have jacked up too high on them yet.
(although, you can trust me...my eBay user ID
is "markswalker," (I have a long 100% positive
feedback history on eBay) and I have been a member of
this forum for so long, and post so regularly,
that if I were banished for hoodwinking a fellow
forum member, I'd freak out!
So, I can go run a take a look. Of course
it only takes one greedy, investment minded person
to see the DVDs sitting on the rack, so they all
may very well be gone before I get there.
(If people want to make money, they should
buy stocks and leave DVD collectors alone, IMHO.)
But we could try.
Why would I do this? Cause I am a nice guy,
and I am always in there, and it wouldn't be
any trouble...and I hate to see them in the hands
of people who won't really appreciate them.
Let me know,
Mark
I just received the Mickey Mouse tin from DVDEmpire (it was onorder when I ordered it in early january, then they got it in, I guess). They also have the other three in stock.
I just picked up Silly Symphonies from the Disney Store on Tuesday. They had all the tins except the Mickey tin. I already had a Mickey, but I went ahead and ordered a 2nd from Amazon. You never know what may happen and I want to make sure I have a back-up of one of the greatest DVDs ever.
Although I had checked disneystore.com last week and they were out of stock of this and one other of the titles, they now have them in stock (I called to confirm this) and I was able to order it through them. I also found it at half.com and ordered on from there last night also. Hopefully one of these will pan out for me and I'll just return the other one or give it as a gift.
As always the HTF membership came through for me. Thanks again!
When I was in at Laser's Edge (www.lasersedge.com) a few weeks ago I was talking to them about the "shortage" of MM tins.
Then they showed me the boatload that they had ordered. Don't know what their stock is right now, but I'd be surprised if they were already out. They had planned ahead on their ordering.
I saw a copy at my local Best Buy a couple of weeks ago. If it's still there Tuesday when I pick up A.I., I'll get it as well. I have the Silly Symphonies set and quite enjoy it.
