I just picked up the A Beautiful Mind DVD in widescreen, and nowhere on the back does it say it's anamorphic or enhanced for widescreen/16:9 TVs (I haven't opened it yet). It just says "1.85:1 Widescreen."
Can somebody confirm if this is indeed anamorphic? (Note: mine is the Canadian version, with half-English/half-French on the front and back covers. Catalog number on the spine is 21450.)
If this DVD is indeed ananmorphic, I would like to know: Is Universal not including this information on the back of their DVDs anymore? Or are they now committed to releasing anamorphic for all their new widescreen DVD titles?

The DVD is anamorphic. I have a copy of it.

    Thanks!

Why didn't Universal include this information? There's plenty of room on the back cover...

I think it's pretty much assumed at this point.

Agreed. But since it doesn't cost any extra to print this information on the back, why leave it out?

I was afraid that was the reason! [IMG]
But seriously, there is plenty of room on the back for this information, French and all...
