    Hi all!

I'm working on a feature indie film and we've hit a bit of a snag in production. In the 11th hour, there have been some additions that will require some voiceover at the end of the movie...

Long story short, I have 2 days to come up with 10-20 voices reporting a news story. I already have all the english ones (or almost all of the at least)- but now I'm looking to add some pieces of foreign languages-- we don't have time or money to find/hire voice actors- and the pieces aren't overly critical anyway (the clips will be pretty much merged into a sea of voices...)

The gig doesn't pay- but if we use your clip you will be credited- and I could probably swing you a copy of the DVD when it is released in late 2002.

All you have to do is email me ([email protected]) an MP3 (128 minimum bitrate, higher is better) of you reading one of the following news blips in some language other than english. The mic on your compter should be fine- I will be filtering them extensively to make them sound like radio broadcasts anyway...

Make sure to include your name and what language your clip is in your email. Seriously- if you an read it and sound natural like a newscaster- there is a 99% chance it will be used in the movie.

I have to have this done by Saturday- so anyone who wants to participate should record and email to me asap!!

Here's the story blips, feel free to paraphrase, read any/all of them that you want!

Hey Vince, is hillbilly/redneck a foreign language? Sometimes when I leave Kentucky I sure feel like it is. If so, let me know. I'd love to do a voiceover.

And if not, please put me on the pre-order list for the movie.

    how about Spanglish?

seriously though, I hope you find what you are looking for.

and you may need two samples from each language to make sure that the proper things are being said.

I'll post this link on a GermanEnglish site so you could get that for sure I would think.

this could easily be done by hailing taxis in NYC by the way. recorder in hand...you may want to have the driver pull over while reading the script though.

I speak Swedish, would that be a good language for this? I'll record it and send it tonight, we'll see what you think of it.

    Hey Vince ...
My girlfriend is translating right now one of the paragraphs into Hungarian [IMG]
The words are a little "heavy" and on the technical side, but we are trying.
Will a .wav file be OK?
I also speak Romanian but very limited ... could give you something basic but not the stuff you are asking for

    Aurel,
I sent info on how to convert wav to MP3-- use this program:
    www.cdex.n3.net
If you can't get it converted to MP3, go ahead and send a wav (as long as it is 44.1/16 bit)-- it will be a big file but if you have the bandwidth to send it- I'll take it.
