My supervisor at work was telling me about a time him and some friends were going to Canada and got stopped at the border. The two friends had felonies on their records and they wouldn't let them into the country.

This concerns me, as I have a felony on my record and had thoughts of maybe taking a road trip to Winnipeg next summer. Am I outta luck?

The topic has come up for both sides of the border. The odds of being checked are pretty small, but any criminal infraction and some civil ones are grounds for rejection.
I checked the Canadian immigration website to see what I could do about my 1984 OWI. Apparently the rehabilitation petition paperwork costs ~$200 (IIRC) and may take quite some time to process.
