Can you make a sonotube that is designed to lay down? (1 Viewer)

I know it sounds like some stupid joke, but I was wondering if it was possible to create a good sub using the sonotube that lays on it side? I would fit a lot better into my HT. If it is possible would I construct it the same way as a traditional sonotube?
