i have an xbox and a DTS and DD receiver, with 5 speakers. can the xbox pass the dts sound from a dts dvd into the receiver, or only dolby digital sound. basically, could i buy a movie with dts surround sound and play it on my xbox and get dts sound to come out. or does xbox only transmit dd? thanks guys.

I believe that it can pass DTS as well as DD for movies. But when it comes to games they are going to all be DD because of the XBox's chip.

Yes it can. Just make sure you enable it on the same menu you enabled DD on.

I have that setup. I went to monstercables.com and bought the cables. You will need to run video through rca and sound through optical.
