Can the Denon 3802 play dolby digital movies and extract a surround back channel with any of it's modes?
Can it play movies in DD-EX with the EX channel?

    Yes it can.
In the main menu select the "auto ES flag detect" or something similar, and the select "no".
Leave the menu.then press the 5.1/7.1 button on the remote. It should say "surround back" on or off depends how many times you've pressed the button.

Thanks for the replies. So it can do this even for movies that are not encoded in DD-EX (ie movies in only Dolby Digital)?
