this method of playback for my Pioneer 414. It does not have to be anything specific, but would like a jazz, salsa, or symphony example to listen to. I want to see how different it is from regular cd 16/44. Oh, where can I buy them?

Keir, you ought to know that 24/96 DVD-Video discs, often referred to as DADs, are pretty much dead as a format due to the arrival of DVD-Audio and SACD. That said, there are a fair number of DADs out there to choose from on the Classic Records and Chesky Records labels. Dealers to check for them online include www.acousticsounds.com and www.elusivedisc.com . I've ordered from both, and both are excellent to deal with. A couple DADs I recommend are Chuch Mangione The Feeling's Back on the Chesky label and Chesky's sampler entitled The Super Audio Collection and Professional Test Disc. Both offer great music and both sound very good.
