I just need some info because I loved this show when I was really little and I'd love to own it on DVD.

First, precisely how much of the series is available on DVD, both through retail and through Time/Life?

If the entire series is not available, is there any indication that the remainder of it eventually will be?

There were 120 episodes in five seasons of The Muppet Show. I believe 48 of them have been released on DVD. I've never heard any mention of plans to release every episode, but I suppose it's possible.

Time Life is currently offering a 10-disc set of "The Best of the Muppett Show" for $100 (payable in 4 monthly installments). I believe there are 3 episodes on each disc, for a total of 30 episodes. I think that's all they've ever released.

Time-Life has actually released 15 volumes of "the Best of The Muppet Show", so the total # of eps. released is 45.

I'm sure if you dig around the TL website, you'll be able to find a good bundle deal on all 15. They're definitely worth it. [IMG]

Dave, thanks for the info! As it turned out, when I went to order the 10 DVD set, a window popped up with an offer of all 15 DVDs for $150! What a great deal! Plus, I had the option to pay for it in 4 monthly installments...which my credit card greatly appreciated! lol

    Have a Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Any chance of season sets of the Muppet Show coming now that Brian Henson sold the Muppets to Disney? Who owns the rights to the TV show now?

Would anyone have any idea why the Muppet Show DVDs on time-life.com are so cheap all of a sudden? Even though its backordered they are advertising the 15 DVD set for only $59.99!!! Last time I checked this set was $149.99. Should I be wary of these being re-released, perhaps in Season Sets or with bonus material? I would hate to have to double dip.

With the change in ownership to the Disney's, it may be Time Life trying to get rid of their inventory before their deal runs out and Disney has sole control.

I'm just hoping they actually come up with more inventory to fill those backorders.

    Dave, If you're interested...

I have a brand new - "The Best Of The Muppet Show Vol. 2" DVD from Time Life which I am looking to trade for.

It's got the Star Wars episode with Mark Hammill, Paul Simon and Raquel Welch.

Please send me a p.m. if you'd like to trade - I've got a huge want list so feel free to offer any DVD in new-mint condition.

Hmm, mine's still listed as backordered, but maybe there's hope then. And yeah, I used the 15%. Course, that basically covered the cost of shipping.
