Can someone explain Convergence tweaking to me?

    I'm confused about what convergence is, what it does, and how you adjust it. My TV manual for the Panny 53WX42 doesn't explain in detail about it.

    you have three seperate posts up dealing with some very basic questions. do a search of this forum with those topics and read through existing posts first.

    And to explain what it is...

    Your TV has three seperate color guns: Red, green and blue.

    They need to be aligned to each other (usually with around 50-60 seperate points of 'convergence') so that you can create the entire color spectrum. If one point is off slightly you end up with a halo, or outline of that color (almost surely red or blue, and not green, since that's what you're supposed to align to) around the border of a contrasting image.
