Can somebody please explain to me what BNR (Block Noise reduction) is? (1 Viewer)

I would like to find out what this feature is on my 755V Dvd player. I don't seem to notice any difference with it on or off. If I don't see a difference, would it be best to shut it off?

BNR reduces 'block noise' or what is commonly referred to as pixelization. You may not notice it on every DVD.
