can PS2 play CD-R?

    Most likely, most CD Players can play CDRs, but they cant play CDRWs...

    Yes the PS2 can play both CD-R and CD-RW format. I have tried to play both and currently working on a way to play DVD-R on it to.

    The PS2 won't play ANY MPEG-1 Video CDs. Don't know why. I've played several CDRs and CD-RWs (some with DTS) on it with no problems though.
