So what does it take to play at reference levels? I currently own a Kenwood VR-605, 4 Polk RTi28's for mains and surrounds, CSi30 Center, and a Velo CHT-15. The amp is rated at 100 wpc, but we all know its not pushing more than around 30 wpc with all channels driven.

So what do you guys think, can i play at or close to reference levels? I have always been curious as to what it really takes.

    Thanks,

P.S. Can you damage the polk silk/polymer tweeter by brushing your finger across it? I touched one of mine the other day and it dipped in and rolled right back out. I was curious if any instant damage can be done.

Doubtful if you can play cleanly at Ref levels in anything other than a small room.

If you damaged the tweeter...you would hear it.
