Can my DirecTivo be on standby and still record, or does it have to be "on"? (1 Viewer)

I just recently got a DirecTivo (Hughes HDVR2) and scheduled some recordings while I will be away for the weekend. My question is: can I leave the unit on standby while I'm gone, or does the unit have to be left "on" to record my scheduled programs? I can't find anything in the manual about it, but I'm assuming leaving it on standby would be OK. Please help. Thanks.

Leaving it in standby will not stop it from recording. It only stops the buffer from filling up. Other than that, the receiver works just as hard as if you were watching TV. I've never turned mine off.
