Is there a speaker out there that plays louder and clearer than the klipsch rf7? I've auditioned soooo many speakers and have yet to find one. And no i'm not trying to bring in the rediculously priced things out there but for their price or even double is there anything that beats them? Can someone thats honestly heard the rf7's give me some answers?

Chris, there's probably a good reason why you have not gotten a real answer yet. [IMG]

Probably not. At 98db sensitivity because of the horns, they are so easy to power and therefore can go loud with average equipment. Probably take a horned speaker to match it at that price point. But I wonder why noone makes a set to compete, at least at average consumer levels. My bet is the sound is really distinctive and "in your face" and many people don't prefer that. I know that's why I didn't get them. With Klipsch, it's usually you like 'em or hate 'em. I'll note I did demo them.

Man i heard the Klipsch RF-7's play in the showroom with SoundCity's other top model speakers. This one guy loved Monitor Audio so I asked him to compare. Me and my uncle both agreed, the Klipsch sounded much louder and much clearer and distinct... We both loved them, but yet again i'm a Klipsch finatic.

Also I found there bookshelf speakers, RB-7 to be the same way. Very loud and distinct, nice speaker as well.

The only thing that will do that are the higher end Klipsch Heritage speakers(LaScala, Belle, and Klipschorn).

    BTW, the sensitivity of the RF-7 is not 98dB, it's 102dB @ 2.83V/1M.

"The kit for a limited time will be on sale for $1000. This includes 24 SA071 midbass drivers, 24 RTW2 tweeters, Xover components, enclosure and xover plans, and also the precut front baffles made on the CNC machine. The baffles being cut will save hours of work alone. The regular price I plan to have at about $1500 for this kit. I plan to extend the $1000 offer for about a month."

Nexo speakers. I'd take them anyday over Klipsch. And I do like some of the Klipsch I've listened to so don't think I'm just bashing them. [IMG]

    Chu,

That's John J's test set. I am not sure how I am going to
finish mine yet.. I would love to do something like Burled
Oak (if I did a Veneer) but that would cost a fortune. I am
actually kicking around the idea of real 5.0 ounce twill
weave carbon fiber wrapped around the sides, back, top and
bottom and heavily cleared (10 coats of 2 stage auto clear)
and then doing the baffles in WilsonART Brushed Aluminum
    Laminate.

I'll cross that bridge when I get to it [IMG]

Oh, geez, now that just isn't fair. What is the efficiency of that thing, 95db?

Isn't Klipsch known to overstate all sensitivity specifications on their "home" speakers by 3-4 db relative to an anechoic measurement? I know the RB-5 is 4db less than spec.

So still no one can find speakers that beat them at price performance? I'm not just talking loud either. Even the bass on the rf7's is amazing. The paradigm studio 100's didn't seem to be able to touch them.

Chris, this isn't the first time you've started a thread to announce your love of Klipsch. But the issue is so obviously subjective that 100 people could tell you speakers THEY like better for the money and you'd just sit there and say (again!)

I think those speakers Brett has shown are just crazy. First of all they aren't going to look too good in a home enviroment and second they can possibly be taller than some rooms. That in my opinion is for someone who just wants to blast there music.
