I'm ready for something new.. I think?

Can I rebuild in the NEC box?

I would like a larger hardrive, faster processor (is this the motherboard?), more memory, CDRW and I guess I will need new graphics & sound cards.. I'd like some USB ports too as I have none..

It doesn't have to be the best.. just considerably better than 233MHz/MMX/64MB/6GB I have now..

I use the computer for surfing, business (Quickbooks), word-processing and that's about it.

I'm guessing I will need a new operating system right?

Can you guys help me get started? Can it be done for ~ $500? Thanks!

Usually not. Store purchased PC's usually have a proprietary case and power supply. Not too mention you would need a new power supply anyway.

The good news is you can probably build a new PC for under $500 with a new case PSU. Check out Newegg.com for prices. I know you can build a 900mhz Athlon with case, burner, etc. for under $500.

    Thanks C. Ryan

Okay.. I went to newegg and not knowing a whole lot about this I attempted to put something together..

I hope I can post it here:

Does this all work together? Do I need anything else? Does anything suck?

    Thanks

    Sorry .. didn't work
