Can anyone explain this "Speed Bump" Sunday cartoon (1 Viewer)

This is the "Speed Bump" cartoon from Sunday. Can anyone explain what's funny, or at least what's supposed to be funny, about it? I don't get it.

At first glance, I think the idea is that the seminar is dedicated to "diversity", yet the audience seems to be primarily an un-diverse groupings of minorities.

Just my guess. It really isn't all that clear.

Fairly obvious to me. Even though it is a diversity conference, the Blacks are sitting with other Blacks; the Whites are sitting with other Whites; the Asians are sitting with Asians, etc. Nobody is mixing and being truly diverse.

Edwin, yeah, good observation. I didn't think of that. Not too obvious, except after you pointed it out. Almost like one of those IQ tests.

With the "Diversity Seminar" banner the joke misses because there is actually diversity in the crowd so you're left saying 'I don't get it'

I think the banner should read "Integration Seminar" instead of "Diversity Seminar". That way the joke makes a little more sense.
