Can an un-grounded outlet cause picture distortion in a DVD? (1 Viewer)

I've had my TV and DVD Player plugged to two different outlets, one grounded and the other un-grounded according to my Surge Protecter. When I was useing the grounded outlet the picture on my TV from the DVD Player was very crisp and clear while watching my Star Wars Episode 1 DVD.
But when I recently changed location and started useing the un-grounded outlet I've noticed alot of picture distortion (kind of snowy looking) in the darker scenes of my Episode 1 DVD. Could this be AC noise from the un-grounded outlet that I'm seeing in the picture? I'm going to be moveing my TV and DVD Player back to the location that has the grounded outlet.

If your surge suppressor says the outlet is not grounded, you would not be covered under any warranty provided by it's manufacturer. This outlet is almost CERTAINLY the problem.
