Ugh! I purchased a DP301 receiver to put in our bedroom. Our system is a Dual LNB Dish 500 system (Model 4900 receiver) that has been up and running with one receiver for the last 4 years.

There are two cables coming from the dish into a small dual female to female connector that is grounded to house ground (it is not a switch box but just a straight thru connector (2 in and 2 out)). One connector goes to the Dish 500 receiver and the other side connects to the 300 receiver.

I cannot get any satellite lock on with the DP301 receiver yet I have 100+ on Satellites 110 (odd, even) and 119 (odd, even) with the 4900 receiver.

My question is; Can I only use a Dish 500 receiver in a 500 system? Do I have to repoint the satellite dish? I really don't want to because I have such a strong signal coming in on our main unit. And I really hope I just didn't spend money on something I can't use. [IMG]

I found the problem. Bad RG6 cable from the wall to the receiver. Ugh! and Woohoo!
