Cambridge Audio has announced the February availability of its top-of-the-range DacMagic 200M with headphone amp. The new unit includes MQA support, integrated Bluetooth and dual ESS Sabre DACs. Cambridge has also upped the spec from its previous generation DACs by handling PCM and DSD signal inputs on the 200M at the higher 32-bit/768kHz and DSD512 native resolutions, respectively.
All digital files from CDs, streamed sources and laptops are converted to analog audio, and a dual mono configuration means left and right channels are processed separately allowing for “superb dynamic range”. Furthermore, switchable digital filters help to reduce noise from the digital-to-analog conversion process, while each filter offers up a different sonic option depending on the source material.
