calibration level

    At what level,75 or 85 db, should I calibrate my speakers ?

    THX reference level is 75 db using the processors internal test tone.
    Hold the SPL meter at seated ear level pointed up at the ceiling. Make sure there is no other sounds in the room.

    One more thing. Should I calibrate my sub also at that level ?

    Some people like to calibrate their sub higher than the rest of the system to get big "boom!" out of their HT. Personally I calibrate the sub to 75 also. I like a balanced, not bass-heavy sound.

    I have calibrated my system at 75 db & the result that I got is very satisfactory. The bass is controlled without sounding boomy.
