I have always wondered this....

I know you should recalibrate the display when buying a new dvd player or switching from say component to dvi. How do I calibrate my HDV OTA tuner? Are there test disks that the TV broadcasters give out or do I just have to accept what they give me?

I have a Sanyo Z2 projector and a LG 4200 tuner.

A response would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Too bad you only have OTA, HDNET shoots out HD test patterns and calibration patterns at 8AM from time to time.

I do have a DVI dvd player that I currently hook up with components since I use the DVI input for the HD tuner.

Should I calibrate the dvi input with the dvi player and then just switch the dvi input over to the HD tuner? I would think an HD signal would sway the results. Should I just go by look and futz with the controls as I watch each channel?

You would think every channel would have its own unique test patterns? Actually each show...

Hopefully not, as this indicates terrible mastering of the shows. Which unfortunately is probably not very uncommon...
