OK, on E-Bay, I bought a cable with the following description:

THUNDER CABLE 6' DIGITAL COAX VIDEO CABLE NEW

The description goes on to say that this digital coax cable can be used for either audio or video.

What I got looks to be what I call a standard RCA video cable, not a digital coax. The package says:

    THUNDER VIDEO CABLE RCA CONNECTORS

I'm requesting a refund, but the seller says that an RCA video cable can in fact pass a digital audio signal. This doesn't sound right to me, but the jack size is the same. Should I get the refund?????

Actually John, an RCA Video Cable can in fact pass a digital signal.
Whether or not you paid too much for it is your decision, but "technically" it is a digital audio cable.

Like Ric said, an RCA video cable IS a digital coax cable also. Specifications are the same.

As long as it's 75 Ohm and shielded, they got you.

Since you only paid $10 for it, I wouldn't feel too bad. There are lots of people who have paid a lot more for overpriced cables that perform similarly to your "Thunder Cable".[IMG]

So, what exactly is the difference between a coax cable for video and a digital coax cable for audio?

Im sure this has been discussed before at some point in time, think Ill do a search.
