On my new Samsung HLS6187 TV, I am getting digital cable via Time Warner, who gave me a Scientific Atlanta 8300 HD box. When I watch it, however, sometimes the blacks seem kind of milky. Is this a problem with the color space and is there a way to adjust it?

Have you calibrated?

Is it only sometimes with particular content or channels? Broadcast/cable etc is often all over the map. I wouldn't be surprised to see content all over the place and elevated blacks (especially commercials which usually look terrible).

I usually watch HDNet Movies, but occasionally INHD 1 and 2, Discovery Theater, and Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune on the ABC station HD feed.

I haven't had it calibrated yet.
