At home, early 1977, running a 16mm print and watching my infant daughter dancing in her crib.

They should include a scratchy, pink print transfer for the sheer nostalgia. Extra points if they can record the audience from a midnight screening.I saw many a 35mm midnight screenings in my high school and college years. Tried watching it at home once in the DVD era and just wasn’t the same. Honestly, I'm glad this exists, but I also can’t imagine a midnight screening without a couple decades’ worth of built in scratches and color fade.
There was an audience participation recording on the 25th anniversary DVD release. It was very much like what modern day screenings of RHPS have devolved to: chaos where everyone yells whatever pops into their heads at any given moment and you can't understand a word anyone is saying. I don't think I ever made it all the way through that audio track.Extra points if they can record the audience from a midnight screening.
Seeing RHPS at a midnight screening nowadays isn't the same experience that it was back in the 70s and 80s. The talk back to the film was more of a give-and-take between the audience and the film. Susan Sarandon compared it to a mass ritual, which is an accurate description. There was an audience participation recording on the 25th anniversary DVD release. At the rate of the slowest tortoise in the world. Once or twice a year is not something to crow about.Who says Disney does not restore and release catalog titles?![]()
Me too, but I just hope they fix the issues that are present on the original Blu-ray release (were those ever fixed, btw?) Namely, the improper cropping of the lips in the opening titles and the missing blue tint in Brad's bedroom scene. There may have been some audio issues as well?Considering the promised upcoming releases, Disney made a wise decision to release this movie in 4K.

As someone who owns this on digital, I must admit that I eagerly anticipate the upgrade to that format.
I believe that the audio for "Over at the Frankenstein Place" is from an alternate take. Sarandon's vocals differ.Me too, but I just hope they fix the issues that are present on the original Blu-ray release (were those ever fixed, btw?)
