    Film Synopsis:

    Take out the trash, eat your broccoli — who needs moms anyway? Nine-year-old Milo (Seth Green) finds out how much he needs his mom (Joan Cusack) when she's nabbed by Martians who plan to steal her mom-ness for their own young. In a race against time and oxygen, his quest to save her knows no bounds. And with some unexpected help, Milo just might find his way back to her — in more ways than one.

    I have not seen this film, but it was one of the biggest box office disasters in all of movie history. It had a budget of $150, and Disney probably spent maybe another $75 million on prints and promo worldwide. So, a total negative cost of maybe c. $225 million, compared to box office returns of $36 million world wide. Since theater owners keep some of that 36, it looks like a cool loss of about $200 million for Disney before the video comes out and starts chipping away at that. But I don't think the video release or cable or TV will ever be able to erase that kind red ink...
