DISNEY AND PIXAR’S INSIDE OUT 2 BEGINS STREAMING
ON DISNEY+ SEPT. 25 – TV SPOT AND KEY ART NOW AVAILABLE

BURBANK, Calif. (September 12, 2024) – Make room for new emotions when the top animated movie of all time, Disney and Pixar’s Inside Out 2, makes its streaming debut on Disney+ September 25.

Certified-Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes™ and celebrated by critics as “absolute perfection, hilarious” (Jazz Tangcay, Variety) and “an unforgettable experience” (Landon Johnson, Awards Watch), the highly anticipated heartwarming sequel has already proven to be a blockbuster smash hit. Inside Out 2 is the highest-grossing animated film of all time, the fastest animated film to reach $1 billion globally, and is currently the 8th highest grossing film in global box office history.

Disney and Pixar’s Inside Out 2 returns to the mind of newly minted teenager Riley just as headquarters is undergoing a sudden demolition to make room for something entirely unexpected: new Emotions! Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear and Disgust, who’ve long been running a successful operation by all accounts, aren’t sure how to feel when Anxiety shows up. And it looks like she’s not alone. Maya Hawke lends her voice to Anxiety, alongside Amy Poehler as Joy, Phyllis Smith as Sadness, Lewis Black as Anger, Tony Hale as Fear, and Liza Lapira as Disgust. I got the Blu-ray two days ago and won't need to use Disney+ to access this. But I'm curious to see if Disney held back any additional behind-the-scenes content specifically for the Disney+ launch.

Lightyear, Turning Red and Elemental all had exclusive making-of specials produced for Disney+ which were not included on their respective Blu-rays. You can't even watch the Lightyear documentary at all anymore because it was removed during one of their purges of original programming. The only remaining proof of its existence is the trailer for the documentary which appears at the start of the Blu-ray disc literally directing buyers to Disney+ for something that should have been on the disc we bought.

I'm very happy to have Inside Out 2 as part of my permanent Blu-ray collection. I love the movie. But the bonus features are extremely slim, even by recent standards. So, it wouldn't surprise me if there was something else held back for Disney+.

I just checked Disney+. The movie is there, but the only extra currently available is a trailer. If Disney is holding back additional bonus material for Disney+ instead of the Blu-ray, as they have done previously, it is not being released today.
