The highly anticipated introduction of the edgy, and dynamically comical heroes into the Marvel Cinematic Universe has already proven to be a massive success, becoming the biggest rated-R movie in history and the #5 highest-grossing MCU domestic release of all-time. “The movie broke so many records,” said Ryan Reynolds. “The only way to describe how I feel is, just south of ‘I’m finally enough’ and slightly north of, ‘I forgive my father.’”

Certified-Fresh and Verified Hot on Rotten Tomatoes™ and celebrated by critics as “Just really f*cking fun” (Kristy Puchko, Mashable), “Fires on all cylinders, and one viewing is not enough” (Pete Hammond, Deadline), and “The Greatest Film Ever Made” (Ryan Reynolds), the home entertainment release goes far beyond the fourth wall with exclusive content featuring a hilarious gag reel, deleted scenes, all-new featurettes, filmmaker commentary with director/producer/writer, Shawn Levy and star/producer/writer, Ryan Reynolds and much more of that extras s$%t fans love.

Plus, get your socks ready, nerds…you can look for all the cameos and easter eggs you missed in the theater when the film arrives in stunning, mind-blowing 4K Ultra HD Dolby Vision® along with Atmos® audio for the finest picture and sound presentation at home!

Moreover, a maximum effort has gone into Amazon Prime Video’s Bonus X-ray Experience. More revealing than red spandex, it includes featurettes you can’t get just anywhere including Deadpool doodles, character pros and cons, and trivia that’s been fact-checked by the Merc with a Mouth himself (pinkie swear). And there’s a carousel of fun on Fandango at Home and crisp, juicy bits on Apple TV for pumpkin-pie lovers and everyone else, including those who are Avengers-adjacent, to enjoy.

The 4K UHD Blu-ray will be released in a national sku and special limited-edition SteelBooks®, featuring exclusive custom art and packaging. Fans will see red and yellow with two SteelBook versions to choose – one version spotlights Deadpool and the other showcases Wolverine, with images of each character’s multiple variants in all their glory included inside!

Film Synopsis
Marvel Studios presents their most significant mistake to date – Deadpool & Wolverine. A listless Wade Wilson toils away in civilian life. His days as the morally flexible mercenary, Deadpool, behind him. When his home world faces an existential threat, Wade must reluctantly suit up again with an even more reluctantlier... reluctanter? Reluctantest? He must convince a reluctant Wolverine to... oh hell, just watch the movie. Synopses are stupid.

It doesn't say otherwise, so I am assuming the extras listed are all on the 4k/blu-ray, and not just digital.

It does include an asterisk* on the bonus features listing, that says they may vary by product and retailer. Not sure of the details of that.

There also seem to be some streaming exclusive add-ons for the digital versions provided by various retailers:

Moreover, a maximum effort has gone into Amazon Prime Video’s Bonus X-ray Experience. Also, the Dolby Atmos is only on the 4K disc and select UHD streamers (which I think is the usual pattern for Disney).

Saw this theatrically in 4K DLP and it looked fantastic. What's with Disney continuing to use BD-66s for major releases on 4K? Even Kino Lorber and Criterion are routinely using BD-100s, even for films under two hours in length.

I guess BD-100s are reserved only for the movies that make two billion.

Disney seems to always state BD-66 in their press releases and then sometimes the discs turn out to be BD-100s.

With the film’s aspect ratio being 2.40:1, rather than utilizing the full 16x9 frame, and with the bonus features being included on the BD rather than the UHD, it may not need more space than the 66.

Sometimes labels use larger disc sizes and/or disc counts than necessary more for marketing than technical necessity.

It's interesting that the Deadpool Steelbook has all of the Wolverine variants inside, while the Wolverine Steelbook has all of the Deadpool variants inside.

So, this came out yesterday. I still don't have my copy, which I preordered when those went live. Amazon currently says I can expect it on 10/31. Here's the concerning part: While the prices of the UHD/blu-ray came down to earth, the prices of the steelbooks did not. Amazon still has them at about $65 each. Can we expect these to come down before next week? Why can't Amazon ever make anything easy?

Amazon sucks. I pre ordered this one and Twisters, and they both said they would be delivered on 10/28. This morning I got a notification from them that my CC was rejected (which I use to buy things from them all the time and is saved on their site). I cancelled the order and got them both from Wal-Mart (with that same CC) and now have both of them in my hand.

I ordered this from Wally back on 10/2, along with A Quiet Place: Day One. I got the latter in short order, and this was said to be shipping on 10/22 and delivered on 10/24.

Unfortunately, there seems to be a disconnect between the vendor (Wal-Mart) and the shipper (FedEx). Wal-Mart seems to think it's on it's way and will be delivered today. FedEx seems to think they have a shipping label, but don't have the package, and therefore it's not on its way.

I see this quite frequently as most of the review screeners sent to me are via FedEx. WalMart has created a shipping label, so as far as their system is concerned, your order has shipped. Fed Ex, though, is still waiting to take possession of the shipment. So, a number of things could be at play here. The most likely is that your order is still sitting on the shipping dock at the WalMart warehouse waiting for FedEx to pick up. The worst case scenario is that your order fell off the cart from the labeling area to the dock, and hopefully it will find its way to the shipping dock for FedEx to pick up.

The SteelBooks are sold out at Amazon and have been for some time. With the current state of physical media, I would not expect any copies to come back in stock.

Bull Moose still has both SteelBooks in stock for $49.97 each, though they say "Limited Availability."

Bull Moose charges about $8 for shipping, except for orders over $75 which ship free.

I received my SteelBook from Bull Moose today. To their credit, they did a great job of packing it. I saw a bubble mailer on my doorstep and was a little concerned, but they actually put the SteelBook in a box inside that bubble mailer.

Compare that to the last SteelBook I ordered from Walmart, which arrived dented to hell inside a thin mailer.

Bull Moose has always done a great job packaging everything I’ve gotten from them, especially limited edition and special packaging type items. They’ve been getting a lot of my business lately.

I received both titles from Amazon this past Tuesday 10/22.

Ok. I got my copy of D&W 4k yesterday. a week after it was released. even though I ordered it on the day orders went live. Here's the thing: Amazon never lowered the price of the steelbook. I guess that's on me for not checking before it shipped. But still.

I expect to pay more for steelbooks. The usual increase over regular editions is $5-$10. I expect that. I don't expect the steelbook to be 40 fucking dollars more. This is just outrageous. I know there are scalpers on eBay selling it for $100+, and Walmart's price is $55.

Are the steelbooks incredibly limited this time? I can't see any other reason they'd be so expensive. None of the other steelbooks are.
