How about releasing the original motion picture soundtrack as an 8-track tape so I can finally switch out my Conway Twitty and Foghat cassettes?

I did actually have "Star Wars" and "Star Wars and Other Galactic Funk" by MECO on 8-track! Gotta love the weird edits (to make the songs fit properly), the eerie cross-talk, and not-at-all-startling program changes on those things... KA-CHUNK!

You kids today. Growing up nobody called them that. They were VCRs!
There were plenty of people who referred to their VCRs as "The VHS." I encountered them frequently when I worked at Blockbuster Video, and it used to drive me a little nuts.

Edit: At the risk of dating myself, I should clarify this was in the olden days, when Blockbuster only stocked VHS tapes.

Once Beta was dead, there was no need to differentiate so I only heard VCR.

Similarly, I hear people today call them "VHSes" and I only heard people call them "tapes" when they were in regular use.

Don’t you miss when a part of a song was on track one and it would quickly fade out, and you would hear KACHUNK and it would quickly fade in on track 2. Especially if it was the hit song.

Almost as much as I miss when a movie would stop, and I'd have to stand up and walk across the room to flip the LaserDisc once or twice an hour.

Cross-talk that was backwards! Pretty creepy. I wonder... was it due to crap 8-tracks that someone noticed that Led Zeppelin's "Stairway to Heaven" run backward murmurs "my sweet Satan" when there's a bustle in the hedgerow?

I hope the ALIEN marketing folks are reading this thread, shaking their heads slowly. This is what you get when you inexplicably offer a VHS tape of a new movie.

Yeah, I won't be buying this for that reason. Revisionism is revisionism. (Was the VHS tape "fixed" too?)
