Can anyone recommend alternate sources for quality cables? All cables...component, speaker wire, etc.

I have to believe there is more out there than Monster

If you are on a fix budget, you can save a lot by making your own speaker cables. It's really easy to do and cost you nothing.

You can get bare 16 gauge wire from Home Depot at any length for very cheap. I think it's less than 15 cents per foot. Go to Radio Shack and get 20 banana plugs and use wire cutters and make cables.

They work great for me and I use professional studio monitors in my 5.1's.

Depending on the size of the room, cabling can be very expensive. You rather have 10 feet more than a yard less.

Banana plugs are like $5 each pair and you need 20 of them.

So, it may cost you $50 to make 200 feet of cables. It probably be less than that.

For my rig, I get no interference using bare wires.

The only cables that I bought were for components and sub.

I second Daman's suggestion with regards to checking out Blue Jean Cables. They make some really great cables and you don't have to break the bank to get them.

Actually, if you're used to Monster, Blue Jeans cables might shock you for what you get for the money.
