Its great quality, I got this as a present (to myself, tee hee) Awhile back the quality of both the audio and video is about as good as you'll get. Although I think a Double feature disc has recently come out by Image entertainment that supposedly give an equally decent transfer to both Steamboat Bill Jr. And The General.

    You might try this overview:
    Review from Images Journal

I can't find any online sites which methodically reviewed all 11 discs (over 20 hours) of this box set, though you can likely find reviews of the individual discs from a database like DVD-Basen. These transfers were produced by the great David Shepard, one of the titans of silent film restoration and, given their age, they look pretty good (though they don't approach the quality of the Chaplin restorations by mk2, which Warner has recently released).

The set includes all 11 features and 19 shorts Keaton produced from 1920 to 1928 (his peak years of production), and the eleventh disc contains another 3.5 hours of material from later in his career.

Of my nearly 600 DVDs, this set is one of the crown jewels of my collection. I consider it indispensible. Highly recommended.

    A further enticement to buy:

Digital Eyes has the lowest price on this set, at $129.99 (retail: $199.95). But to sweeten the pot, they also have two current "$10 off a $100 order" coupons which will knock the price down to $119.99 (40% off retail):

    PREJAN2004 (expires 3/15)
    PREMAR2004 (expires 4/15)

That's a little over $10 per disc (and they offer free shipping, too).
