Hey guys,
I have an Optoma HD30 front DLP projector. It is several years old now, and I'm on my third bulb for it.
I've just started to notice that on the mid to upper left side of the screen, there is a thin strip at the edge where the colors are not as they should be. For instance on a solid blue screen, it looks like it is turning brown. It's not uniform, like a straight edge, like specific pixels are going out or anything. In fact it looks like something is casting a shadow over the very edge of the screen. There is nothing present externally that would cast such a shadow.
My question is is this something a new bulb would fix, or is the projector / color wheel itself going bad? I'm not knowledgeable enough about the DLP technology to know if it suffers from burn in or anything, and want to know the the projector is just going out as it's getting a bit old. I wouldn't want to spend money on a new bulb if that's not going to fix the issue at all.
