Thanks Michael, Total Recorder works very well! For the DVDs with a 2.0 option on them. Seems strange that some don't, to me anyway...

Now that I know it works, I just have to register for it and I can record more than 40 seconds:) . I hate to push my luck, but is there any freeware that works as well?

A big thanks to Rob and Philip, and others, for finally helping me figure out what to do here. This might be rather simple to most, but hey, we all gotta learn somehow!

I've recorded a "standard CD" from the two channel mix from a dvd-audio disc, although I did it without a computer.

1. I record the two channel mix from the analog outs on my dvd player to my minidisc player

2. I edit the minidisc by putting in all track stops.

3. I record from my minidisc player to a stand alone CD recorder

4. I erase the minidisc (sometimes)

Scott, that's basically what I do also, but I send the MD digital audio to my computer as one big huge track and do the track marks on the computer.

Is there anyway to capture the DD5.1 tracks and then play those on your PC via DD5.1 compliant soundcard? (or output captured content in DD5.1 to your HT from your PC)

Or are you pretty much stuck with stereo tracks?
