It's great to have the new Bull Durham DVD SE but after listening to the commentary by Costner and Robbins it seems obvious that somebody should have thought to put in the deleted/alternate scenes of:

1. Coster and Robbins fighting at a whore house

2. Last baseball game where Robbins is shown appreciating Costner's effort for him just before Costner is sacked

3. Costner playing baseball in the street by the tobacco factory near the end.

Hey, Ron Shelton or whoever: can you let us know why those scenes weren't put into the DVD? Plenty of room! That would have made it a more "Special" Edition. It's bare bones as it is. (ain't we a greedy bunch?!)

How about the scene Ron Shelton describes not being able to imagine the film without on his commentary track. The scene involves Sarandon and Costner at a bar, her telling him about her life and how she came to be who she is. I went searching for this after the film was over to find nothing. Very disappointing.
