Anyone have much experience building bookshelfs from PartsExpress. How are the sizes and quality of the pre-built bookshelf cabinets from PE? I am looking at lower end cheaper bookshelfs....how are the Dayton crossovers? Also looking at the cheaper Vifa tweeters and Woofers perhaps from the Classic range.....

Another thing would be where could i get information on correct box size and tuning for Vifa drivers?

Thanks

Would probably be better to post in the DIY section.

That said, you're not going to be able to toss some drivers and a generic crossover into a cabinet and expect it to sound good. The biggest part of speaker design is the crossover. It's more than just a circuit to tell what frequencies to go where. It is tailored to the sonic characteristics of the drivers used and the desired sound. Without alot of testing equipment, time, and knowledge designing a crossover from scratch won't be very succesful.

You may want to consider some of the pre-designed kits and public-domain designs that are out there. You should be able to get plenty of help in the DIY section of this forum and others.

Hope this helps :)
