Building AV-3S enclosure tomorrow....Should I use MDF? (1 Viewer)

I'm finally over my case of the flu and will begin construction of my enclosure for a GR AV-3S bookshelf unit tomorrow. Is MDF the best material for the enclosure?

Wayne: That was the thread that prompted my questions on using MDF.

I have plenty enough MDF left over from my sub build to complete the enclosure. I just wanted to be sure there is no down-side (other than weight) to using MDF for mains/surrounds/centers.

MDF requires more work in terms of finishing its exteriors if you care about that area (requiring paint or veneer).
