Would it be crazy to have two of these:

In a large ported box? I would build it about 20" wide, 40" tall and 30" deep or so (standing upright like a file cabinet :D )

I know the Titanic's are bigger and all, but they are also a big spendy and I think two 15" Quattro's would be able to produce a lot of bass without a lot of excursion.

Any input?

Oh, Parts Express rules!!!

I have one of those in a box that's 30 9/16 X 22 1/2 X 18 1/2 (The lumberyard cut one of my sides too short.) with the PE 500 watt plate amp. It's as much bass as I can deal with. I can't comment on whether two of them will be better than one more expensive driver, although there are some posters on the PE forum who think the Quatro sounds better than the Titanic. If thry're still on sale, $150 for two of them ain't bad, seeing as Tempests are hard to getand just about everything else is even more expensive.

From a value standpoint the Quatro's are great, you're getting essentially 20mm of Xmax for $150 when you get two of them. I don't think there is anything out there right now that can match that Xmax/$ ratio.

If you don't mind have a big azz box then go for it.

This is what I did with my two 15" Quatros!

I love the sound quality for HT and music. I have played with a 15" DVC and a 12" titanic and I much prefer my quatros!

I am running one Rytmic 350w amp to both boxes in a 8ohm load so the amp runs nice and cool.
